We are independent journalists. We are volunteers. We don't accept advertising or corporate backing. We don't ask for donations. But there are a few simple, free ways you can help.

A new channel needs to grow Engagement metrics. YouTube tracks which videos attract Subscribers; the number of Views, Likes, Shares, and Comments they generate; and how many viewers watch for 30-seconds or more. It uses these metrics determine the quality and relevance of content then adjusts its visibility accordingly. The better our Engagement, the bigger the audience that sees our content.

We post short format content on Bluesky - the alternative to X. Just as with YouTube, we need to grow key metrics on Bluesky: Likes, Follows, and Replies. These metrics determine the reach of our content.
Since our focus is on how the threat to democracy impacts our local community, getting our neighbors, friends, and families to Like, Follow, and Reply on our Bluesky channel is the first step in growing a sustainable audience. Reposting our posts helps too.

Mediafactore covers events throughout San Diego County. We are often the only media presence on the scene. We're there to show what is happening and let real people tell the story. Presenting a personal perspective creates a connection with the community that is more impactful than traditional reporting.
