January 30, 2026 – Hundreds of protesters joined a march in Cardiff, CA in support of a Nationwide Economic Shutdown. Protesters gathered at the head of the 1.3-mile Cardiff Rail Trail at Chesterfield Drive. The trail is part of a larger Coast Rail Trail connecting North County beach communities with San Diego.

Speakers including Democratic candidate for Encinitas City Council District 4 Brad Lefkowits addressed the crowd before it set off on a northbound march toward the Encinitas shopping district.
