Protest in Response to Murder of Renee Good

Protesters in Encinitas voice outrage over murder of Renee Good.

January 23, 2026 – Protesters in Encinitas, CA gathered at the local Target store to voice their outrage about the murder of Renee Good by federal agents in Minneapolis. The event was organized to demonstrate the solidarity of SoCal citizens with everyone in Minneapolis.

The peaceful protest saw hundreds of sign-carrying protesters line the sidewalk in front of the Target store. Signs were predominately anti-ICE and denouncements of the murder of Ms. Good.

The site of the protest was chosen as a reminder that Minneapolis-based Target is subject to a boycott for capitulating to the Trump administration by ending its diversity programs.

Protesters interviewed by Mediafactore expressed their anger over the murder of Ms. Good, lack of accountability for those involved in the shooting, and disapproval of the occupation of Minneapolis by ICE.
