February 14, 2026 – Citizens of Del Mar, CA celebrated Valentine’s Day with a Save Our Democracy protest outside City Hall. Protesters lined the intersection of Camini Del Mar and 11th Street with signs decrying Trump administration’s attacks on the constitution and violent immigration policies. Drivers of vehicles passing the busy intersection honked their horns in support of the peaceful protest.
After an hour of demonstrations on the street, the event moved into the plaza in front of City Hall for a rally that included a folk music duet performing original protest songs and – in keeping with the loving nature of holiday – a food drive in support of the San Diego Food Bank.
Organizers host weekly protests at City Hall in Del Mar every Saturday starting at 11:00 AM. As one organizer noted, the event is a great way to start the day by exercising First Amendment rights, followed by fun at the nearby farmers market and the beach.
