March 7, 2026 – Doctors, scientists, students, and concerned parents gathered in front of a local landmark in the Cardiff section of Encinitas, CA to call for an end to the administration’s attacks on science. The event took place on the South Coast Highway in front of the Magic Carpet Ride statue featuring a silver surfer.

Attendees cited the importance of vaccines, research on diseases, and climate change as just a few reasons to prevent science deniers from destroying our nation’s scientific superiority. Many pointed out the contributions of scientific research from public health to advances in technology.
