Weekly Rally for Democracy in Del Mar

Anti-ICE, Del Mar, Anti-Fascism, Pro Democracy

February 21, 2026: Protesters lined all four corners in front of City Hall in Del Mar, CA on a sunny Saturday afternoon to take a stand for democracy. Participants ranging from teens to seniors postponed a day at the beach in favor of carrying signs and waving to passersby. The vast majority of motorists crossing the intersection honked horns in support of the protest. The route is also a favorite among local cyclists who also showed support as they rode by in pelotons large and small.

After the initial street protest, attendees gathered in the City Hall courtyard to listen to speakers and join a sing-along featuring original protest songs. Organizers mentioned that one of the benefits of their protest was its proximity to a weekly farmers’ market, lots of great local restaurants and shops, convenient free parking, and of course – the beach.
